Healy & Sakho Updates

The 'infamous' Leeds debt, that never seems to get any lower, is restricting United to loan deals or Bosman free transfer signings. Hardly a policy to excite the fans or bring any success, never mind to keep free of the relegation mire.

The boss will take a close look at the 23-year-old before deciding whether to make a move.

Healy is out of contract at Parkhead, but as he is under 24, Leeds would have to pay compensation if they wanted to make the deal permanent. Another Julian Gray scenario.

Reid's old club Sunderland were also interested but could not afford the settlement.

Reid will also step up his bid to sign Marseille striker Lamine Sakho after he impressed in the Dublin Tournament.

Meanwhile, rumours are rife in the business world that former Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale is poised to step in at Barnsley this week.
It had been thought Ridsdale had lost his battle for control at Oakwell, but frantic activity has been going on behind the scenes and he could yet be at the helm in midweek, backed by a wealthy medical software magnate.
