Harte considers future

Harte, who joined United as a 15-year-old, has played nearly 250 games for the club but has not been a regular since Terry Venables took over the managers post and hasn't played since New Year's Day.

"It would break my heart if I had to leave but I'm not sure if I have a future there any more," Harte told the Sun newspaper.

"Terry Venables told me to lose a bit of weight, which I did, but it hasn't made any difference.

"I've been to see the manager three times but he just won't tell me why I'm no longer part of things.

"I'm not attacking Terry Venables - he is one of the nicest men I've ever met and a terrific manager," he added.

"I just want him to be honest with me. I don't know whether they want to sell me or not.

"Earlier in the season I was getting a game here and there but now I'm not even substitute."
