Leeds struck the post twice before Tony Lennon, Aaron's older brother, gave the home side the lead on 20 minutes with a deflected shot off Simon Walton but Michael Ricketts equalised for the Whites just eight minutes later.
Nicky Gray put United 2-1 up five minutes into the second period before Ricketts bagged his second and Leeds' third of the game just two minutes later.
