The Whites have appealed to the FA and Football League to pre-register the player ahead of the transfer window re-opening on the grounds that he is a free agent and is not being transferred from an actual club.
Kevin Blackwell is, however, working on having him in his plans for the Birmingham City FA Cup game on January 8 at St Andrew's.
