Gregan To Go As Wise Looks For Younger Options

The new boss wants to bring down the average age of his players.

Wise said in the Yorkshire Post: "I have spoken to a few people and they have assured me that in a little bit of time I can have a couple of players. It will take us some time but we will get them.

"We need some pace and legs. Looking at the age of the group, it is quite high. The situation we are in, we need players who are 25, 26, 27 or 28 years of age, along with maybe one old head."

Wise has been linked with Reading's Sam Sodje and Sheffield United's Chris Lucketti and David Unsworth but is refusing to discuss the identity of targets or be rushed into rash signings.

Wise told midfielder Gregan he can leave after making 74 appearances in a little over two years at Elland Road.

He added: "I have spoken to him and if Sean can get a club to go on loan to, he is most welcome to do so. I have given him my opinion and he knows the situation. He is not part of my present plans."
