Gray: Duberry Has Heart In Right Place

Duberry is now mid-way through his fifth season at Elland Road and has made 34 starts in the Premiership and come on four times from the bench.

However, Eddie Gray has been impressed with the defender's form, and in particular the last two games.

Gray said in the Yorkshire Post: "He played really well against Chelsea last week and I am glad to see him doing well because I feel he has been somewhat unlucky in the past.

"I thought he was showing his best run of form for the club when he had that achilles injury in September 2001. That set him back a considerable way but now he has got the opportunity to stake his claim once again.

"He will feel in his own mind that if he can keep performing like he did against Chelsea then he has a great chance to keep his place in the side and become a first-team regular.

"Michael is strong in the tackle and good in the air while his heart is also in the right place.

"Another bonus is that he is a good talker out on the pitch, he lets people know what they should be doing and I need players like that. He wants to do well and I think he realises this is a good chance for him."
