Future for Bridges

The midfielder has a year left on his current contract and could leave on a free transfer next summer.

But Reid is keen to ensure the former Sunderland man stays at Leeds.

I had Michael in last week and had a chat about it and I did put those rumours to him and he said he knew nothing about it," Reid said.

"So I want to make sure he stays anyway and the chairman will be in touch with his advisor and hopefully we can sort out an extension to his deal.

"Bridges coming back into things could be a massive bonus for us. I had him at Sunderland and I know he's a fantastic talent.

"He's only a young lad who hasn't played a lot of games, but once he's fully fit I think we'll see a very hungry Michael Bridges and that can only be good for Leeds United."
