Freedman Rejects Leeds Advances

The striker had been told by Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock he could join Gary McAllister's side as they pushed for promotion on loan until the end of the season, but the Scottish veteran has decided to stay and fight for his place at Selhurst Park.

He said: "Right now it's gone a little bit stale. I had a good chance to go to Leeds and play some football, but I'm not 19 so I can't just jump in a car with four young kids, which I explained to Gary, as much as I would like to play football.

"But I enjoy playing here, I enjoy coming to Selhurst Park. I think I've still got something in me so I'm hanging on with my fingernails and I think that that's the right decision for the time being."
