Fowler has been out of action since undergoing hip surgery during United's pre-season programme but boss Terry Venables has confirmed that Fowler is now ready to be eased back into match action.
He said: "Robbie is on his way back and with Michael Bridges also close to a return, things are looking very good in that department.
"Robbie has trained with us and he has looked good."
