As a result the defender will miss four first team games, starting from a fortnight after the incident which includes the Norwich City, Crystal Palace and Stoke City home matches and Coventry City away.
It had been thought that he would get a three match ban but as this is now his second sending off of the season, he receives an additional one match ban.
