This has in turn has forced England to delay naming their squad for Saturday's decisive Euro 2004 qualifier against Turkey whilst this is being investigated.

Ferdinand failed to undergo a test at his club Manchester United's training ground and has been reported to the Football Association.

Ferdinand has reportedly said he simply forgot to take the test because he was moving house on the day in question. After realising his error he underwent a test 48 hours later, which proved negative, the report said.
