Dubes: 90% Was Quality

Duberry said in the Yorkshire Evening Post: "Ten per cent of my time at Leeds was blotched, but the other 90 per cent was quality."

Duberry, who made just 78 appearances in 6 years, was a witness in the court case which haunted Leeds four years ago and was also named as a potential target for an alleged drug plot by the club's former board.

"That was part of the 10 per cent of the bad times," added Duberry. "It was like 'Footballers Wives'. It was laughable. I haven't touched a bowl of pasta since! But the other side of it is, I could have been Michael Duberry, the unemployed footballer, who was accused of being a druggie."

Duberry also knows he could be in for a bit of stick from the fans tomorrow.

"I half expected the stick that I got from the Leeds fans this season," he said. "It all boils down to the court case. There was always going to be a split. The one question I keep getting asked is do I regret joining Leeds, but I don't regret it all."

And the Stoke City defender admits he wants the Whites to return to the Premiership. "I think they can nick it from Sheffield United," he concluded. "There's no reason why not."
