Doukara Suspended For Wolves

The striker, who scored in Leeds United’s 1-1 draw at Norwich City, received his fifth yellow card of the season at Carrow Road and is banned for Wolves’ visit to Leeds.

Doukara took his tally of goals to five against Norwich, producing a clinical finish on 63 minutes to earn United a point, but he was booked for a foul by referee Mark Clattenburg.

A number of Leeds players were on the threshold of an automatic one-game ban ahead of Tuesday’s game, including first-choice centre-backs Jason Pearce and Giuseppe Bellusci, but Doukara is the first to break the Football Association’s threshold.

Head coach Darko Milanic has several replacements to choose from, however, and Doukara’s absence could hand Billy Sharp his first league start since United’s 3-1 win at Bournemouth on September 16.

Steve Morison, who has not started a game all season, is also vying for a place and Milanic is yet to turn to Brian Montenegro, the Paraguayan centre-forward signed from Nacional during the summer transfer window.

Montenegro played in Monday’s Under-21 game between Leeds and Colchester United at Elland Road.
