Dorigo: Lennon Looked Fab

Former United hero Tony Dorigo saw Lennon in action for the first time when the youngster came on as a sub against Middlesbrough, and admits to being highly impressed with both the player and Reid's tactical decision to use him at a critical stage of the game.

"I have not seen Lennon before but what a player he looks," said Tony on leedsunited.com.

"He was tremendous and by the size of him I wouldn't like to face him. The trickery and the speed he's got makes him exceptional.

"Reidy has to be complimented as well because at that moment in time they went 2-1 down with a fantastic goal from Juninho.

"I thought right, what kind of response will we get now. We remember last season what would happen once they went behind, very rarely would they come back and win the game. So I thought this is going to be a good early test for them.

"But then we made the change, bring this young lad on and it was great, we got back to 2-2 changed it back again and managed to get the winner through Mark Viduka.

"He read the game extremely well and took a slight gamble with Lennon, but saying that, he's seen him in training and it won't have been a gamble for him."

Lennon became the youngest Premiership player ever when he made his debut against Spurs at White Hart Lane last month aged 16 years and 129 days old.

Tony, a veteran of the '92 league championship winning side, is looking forward to The Whites next away game at Leicester, where he believes the odds of a win have now moved in United's favour.

"Leicester have done quite well since coming up, but of course they will be without Les Ferdinand after he was sent off, and it all depends on how Leeds approach the game.

"You can see them going to a place like Leicester being really strong defensively and hitting Leicester on the break.

"It's very important to get 11 players out there fighting for their club and that's what I saw."
