Harte's hopes of reclaiming his place in the Leeds team, let alone the Republic of Ireland team for the crucial Euro Championship qualifying game in Switzerland on Oct 11, have receded still further following his dismissal on Tuesday night.
Harte is facing a three-match ban for violent conduct after kicking Anthony Le Tallec in the game against Liverpool reserves and will now miss Leeds' home fixtures against Blackburn and Manchester United as well as the visit to Liverpool.
The suspension also casts doubt over a possible loan move to a First Division club.
