The 21-year-old defender, who has just signed a one-year extension to his current contract at the Brittania, insists his long-term future still remains at the Potteries.

"I haven't played in a long time and I'm always desperate to play football, so this was a great move for me," said the left-back.

"As far as I know I will be in the team and it will be great to get some games in. It has been frustrating for me this season, but I knew as soon as Danny Higginbotham came back to the club that I wouldn't be playing as much as I would like because he's a top player.

"I definitely still want to play in the Premier and I believe in myself. In the games I have played, I've shown I can perform against some of the big teams.

"I'm really delighted with the new contract. It takes me up to 2012 and it's nice to know the club thinks that much of me."
