Dickinson will be reaquainted with Simon Grayson who was manager at Blackpool when the defender had a successful loan spell at Bloomfield Road in the 2006-2007 campaign.
Dickinson, 21, opted for a spell at Leeds ahead of Championship teams Charlton and Blackpool.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis confirmed: "At the moment we think it's important that Dicko gets games. He's trained well but has been a little bit short in the games we've asked him to play in, so the chance to play games is right for him."
