Diabolical, Inept, Woeful, Pitiful, Attrocious........

If you thought things could not get much worse after the mauling at Leicester, then today proved it very much can.

Peter Reid may not have the most gifted footballer in his day but he certainly was a battler, and the men in White had no battle at all in their 4-0 defeat at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Terry Venables must be chuckling in his villa in Spain as Leeds today presented an embarrassing spectacle of a club which, having disintegrated off the park, have now disintegrated on it too.

Take away Paul Robinson, Alan Smith and Dominic Matteo and you are left with a shambolic shell of has-beens, never-have-beens and a tin of beans!

Whilst a lot of sympathy goes out to Reid for having been given such a poisoned chalice, it was he who brought in this collective group of loan signings and instead of being the Magnificent Seven they are more likely the Seven Deadly Sins who will drag this once proud club into the Nationwide.

For Peter Reid this was a miserable homecoming. "I can't justify that to Leeds fans, we were lucky it was not more than four," he said. "You can get them on the training pitch but if they haven't the desire, what can you do?"

Well you could start by docking their fat wages this week and give it all to a more worthy charity. Everton were made to look like World Cup winners and must have felt Leeds were a charitable cause today.
