It has been suggested that the player, as yet not named, could be midfielder Derry, who is a former Palace player and missed the game at the weekend through injury.
His agent was quick to deny the speculation: "Shaun went to Palace's hotel the night before the game to see old friends and attended the game," Phil Smith told The Sun. "But people have wrongly assumed he is to blame because he used to play for Crystal Palace.
"We have had no contact from Dennis Wise and Leeds whatsoever. It would be best for Leeds to make it clear who the player is, then these rumours can stop."
