Deane ended his second spell at Elland Road last March with a free transfer move to Sunderland but was released by the Black Cats at the end of the season.

"I am delighted that Brian Deane will be joining us for the kick-off of the Hyundai A-League next month," Perth boss Steve McMahon, and Liverpool legend, told the club's official website.

"He has been one of the top strikers in England for a number of years now and I have no doubt that he will be one of the most effective forwards in this league."

Deano made his name playing for Sheffield United, scoring the first goal in the English Premier League in 1992 against Manchester United.

He made 652 appearances in English football, 81 substitute appearances, scoring 223 goals.

He will join his new Glory teammates in the first week of August ahead of the A-League kick-off on August 26.
