Da Costa To Be Loaned Out

Da Costa has not featured for the Whites since his straight red card against Bury last month, and Dennis Wise will look for possible opportunities for him when the transfer window opens next month.

Wise admits the 23-year-old Portugese winger is not ready for a sustained run in the first team.

Wise said: "You won't see a huge amount of him at the moment. Filipe needs to learn the English game and he hasn't quite got to grips with it. I'm actually thinking about sending him on loan to get games under his belt. He's blessed with so much ability but he's got to work for the team, and do the right things for the team.

"I'm not prepared to have luxuries of people who only play when they've got the ball. He understands that and I'm not knocking him. But I can't take a chance on him and he found that out a couple of weeks ago when he did something he shouldn't have. I need players I can rely on, and who you know will do the job that you send them out to do.

"He needs to understand the English game and you only get that by playing. In the position that we're in, it's difficult to give him a chance or teach him while he goes along."
