Bates is angry that the speculation could undermine his efforts at Elland Road as he only took over last January.
"These people do not know the damage they are causing," said an angry Bates.
"It is contemptible. I want to make it perfectly clear that Leeds United's owners have neither received an offer, nor would they encourage one. Quite simply the club is not for sale."
