Cheltenham Fixture Change

A statement from Cheltenham in full reads:

'Cheltenham Town's Coca-Cola League One match at home to Leeds United has been moved back one day to Sunday 25 November. The match will kick off at 2pm.

'The switch has been made following a request from Gloucestershire Police in order to avoid a clash with the Christmas lights festivities in Cheltenham on November 24.

'The switching on of the Christmas lights is now a big event in Cheltenham and last year 30,000 people flocked into the town centre to see McFly perform in The Promenade.

'The festivities, which began with street entertainment from 1pm and continued with a parade through the town and ended with Father Christmas switching on the lights at 6pm.

'With such a large event taking place in the town it was felt that an expected sell-out crowd at Whaddon Road would result in two much congestion and too many logistical problems on the day.'
