 Gray bound for Addicks?

Out-of-contract Crystal Palace winger Julian Gray was a surprise addition to the starting line-up for a Charlton XI against Peterborough United at London Road this afternoon.

The 23-year-old had agreed to appear, despite playing 90 minutes on Friday for Leeds reserves, so that Alan Curbishley could cast his eye over the natural left-footer.

Gray, playing on the left-side of midfield showed glimmers of his talent - the quick paced youngster showed confidence going forward and teamed up well with Charlton’s Paul Konchesky on the left wing, despite only meeting the team at midday. Charlton won the game 2-1.

While Leeds have reportedly upped their offer to £500k, it would appear that The Addicks are now favourites for the wideman.
