McKenzie is currently on business in Japan but it looked as though Reid might be hi-karated due to The Whites' poor start to the season last week when the chairman convened an emergency meeting of shareholders and the club's fans.

The only people not consulted were the cleaners!

The former England international was given a stay of execution after the club's fans gave him an overwhelming vote of confidence endorsing his efforts since keeping Leeds in the Premiership last season.

Reports on Monday suggested he was considering his future at the club despite the 2-1 victory over Blackburn at the weekend.

"The events of the past 48 hours have once again suggested a tension that simply isn't there," said McKenzie in the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"It was a great result on Saturday and Peter Reid is the manager of Leeds United. He is fully committed to the cause and there are no problems between the two of us."
