The 25-year-old centre-half limped off early into Monday night's 1-0 defeat to Rotherham, but not before hitting the woodwork 3 times.
"He could return before Christmas, but that is very doubtful," Kevin Blackwell told the club's official website.
"It's another blow in a long line of blows... and I'm really disappointed to lose him."
