Butler, who was the subject of a bid from Cardiff City recently, has spoken of his love of the club and is confident in the deal being completed soon.
The popular skipper said in the Yorkshire Evening Post : "It's not about money, it's about spending another year at this club. That's what I want to do. I'd like to see my career out at Leeds.
"I've got a job I want to see out here. Winning promotion with Leeds United would be the best yet."
