The former Leeds junior was dogged by injury during his time at Bradford but is hoping a move down the road to Elland Road will rejuvinate his career.

Michael Ricketts missed the game with a back-injury, Jermaine Wright sat out as a precaution after picking up a thigh injury in training on Friday and Aaron Lennon has picked up an Achilles injury on the tour. Clarke Carlisle also had a slight strain.

Cadamarteri headed the winner from close range in the 25th minute from a Julian Joachim cross to give The Whites a second win on the 2 match tour.

United totally dominated against the Swedish Third Division club but could not beat the inspired Pitea keeper.

New skipper Paul Butler and Matthew Kilgallon had efforts cleared off the line by the Swedes, while Matthew Spring was always a threat from set-pieces.

Trialist Steve Guppy was a danger on the left wing after coming off the bench at half-time, while Brian Deane twice went close in another impressive display.

One worry for Leeds was Eirik Bakke limping off with a knee injury to leave his small squad even more depleted.

The Leeds boss wants to bring in a keeper, left-back, midfielder and striker before the start of the season on August 7.

"It was a 1-0 hiding," said Blackwell on the official Leeds website. "Their keeper pulled off some blinding saves and we missed a few good chances that would have seen us run away with the game, but what's more important is that we kept another clean sheet.

"I am not disappointed with the scoreline, we will have to win a lot of games 1-0 next season and I don't want the players to get frustrated if we do miss chances."

United are to return home on Monday, and meet Mansfield Town on Wednesday.

Leeds starting XI: Carson, Kelly, Butler, Duberry, Kilgallon, Joachim, Bakke, Spring, Pugh, Cadamarteri, Deane.
