Cadamarteri Poised To Sign

He was due to undergo a medical at Leeds' training ground today to prove his fitness after missing most of last season through injury.

Chester City, Wigan and Stoke were also reportedly keen to sign the former Everton player, but after Leeds renewed their interest in the 24-year-old, they became firm favourites.

Kevin Blackwell sees Cadamarteri as an ideal partner for recent signing Julian Joachim.

However, Gerald Krasner was low key on the story, saying on the official website: "We are looking at a lot of players but I'm not going to get involved in speculation. If I was to tell people all the players we are looking at the fans would just get disappointed when they did not appear in Leeds United shirts next season.

"We are trying to bring players in but at the same time a lot of clubs are looking at our players and until their futures have all been resolved it is all speculation."
