Bruce: Reid Right Man For Challenge

Last updated : 22 September 2003 By Kevin Markey

Speaking in The Mirror, Bruce said: "There's no better man for the job. He's resilient and he's had to be over what has been a difficult time.

"He kept them in the division as far as I'm concerned because they were on a slippery slope. If they keep showing the same fight and application that they did today, they will get results.

"Their work rate was terrific and you cannot fault them for their effort. The decisions have gone against them, but he's the best man for them.

"The punters here have had to endure a lot, but I think they know that in Reidy he will have the team ready and they will be up for the challenge.

"They were signing three players the day before the deadline and it's been difficult for him to settle everyone in. He also had to have a few go out to finance bringing those ones in.

"But you don't hear him bleat and you never see him down. He's got a tough job to do, but he's the right man for it."
