Bramall Lane Nightmare Over For Geoff

The 32-year-old Barnsley-born striker arrived at Bramall Lane from West Bromwich Albion last February to help with the Blades Premiership charge but he made only one start and a couple of subs' appearances.

He joins Leeds on a six-month loan claiming that he still does not know why he did not play more often.

The former Halifax striker told the Yorkshire Post: "It is great to be at a club where I feel wanted and part of the squad.

"It has a been a difficult six months and I know my wife and kids will be glad I am at Leeds because the situation at Sheffield United was doing my head in. Saturdays are for playing football and yet I wasn't.

"I have spoken to a few people and they have said I did not do anything wrong. Neil Warnock just wanted to go back to his usual strikeforce and said he was not going to involve me.

"I still cannot work out why and I don't think many people in football can. But those type of decisions are down to a manager and you can't knock him because Sheffield United are now a Premiership club.

"I do not think I have anything to prove to him or Sheffield United. The people I have to prove something to are the Leeds fans.

"I am hoping they will see I am hard working and give 150 per cent, even if I am not playing at my best."
