Bowyer poised for Anfield move

Liverpool officials have agreed terms with the player and their United counterparts and the offer of a new start at Anfield is almost certain to prise Bowyer away from Elland Road.

Leeds had placed a £15m price tag on the player after he refused to sign a new contract last season and Bowyer's agent, David Geiss, has admitted that his client is adamant about leaving the club.

Terry Venables is expected to sell a few of the fringe players at United as he tries to balance the books and Bowyer could be his first major sale since taking over the reigns at Elland Road.
