Bothroyd Bid Set To Fail

Reports suggest that United have had a bid, rising to £300k, agreed with Wolves, but the 26-year-old is not in a rush to leave, even though placed on the transfer-list.

Leeds are also believed to have offered to pay around half of his estimated £8k weekly wages.

But Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has revealed there is plenty of interest in the player.

He said: "There's a bit of interest in him, Leeds certainly had an interest, and three or four Championship clubs have enquired about him. I don't know who has agreed terms, but three or four Championship clubs have mooted an interest, some more than others.

"It's up to him, he can go, he's not playing here."

Bothroyd was excluded from Wolves' pre-season trip to Scotland after being told he has no future at Molineux.
