Blackwell gave the board a list of players he wanted to sign and the club will make sure those players are part of next season's campaign without exceeding their budget.
The Whites Chief Operating Officer Shaun Harvey confirmed on the official website that he is talking to a number of players: "The board considered the financial demands of bringing the players identified by Kevin Blackwell to Leeds United and are now continuing discussions with them to try and finalise terms that are acceptable to both the player and the club.
"The club will not comment or speculate about potential targets and will inform both the clubs supporters and the media as and when signings are completed.
"It is anticipated that further new additions to the squad could be made before Sunday's home friendly fixture against Valencia."
