Mills described Boro "continually being linked with big names and releasing statements suggesting they are pursuing this player or that player" as "seedy politics".
A Boro spokesman told the Sunday Sun: "We are making comfortable progress on the transfer front. And though we have nothing to announce at the moment, we are confident of having three new players of the right calibre in place for pre-season training."
