Several newspapers claim Sunderland boss Roy Keane will offer £2m to get the defender in the close-season. Angolan-born Marques has made 30 appearances for Leeds this season, scoring two goals, and he impressed for his country in the Africa Nations Cup earlier in the year.

The popular Angolan international, who played for Stuttgart and Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga, joined Leeds on a Bosman free at the start of the 2005/06 season.
