Becks Joins Carlisle, Stone Avoids Surgery

The striker, 22, joined United from non-league Wealdstone in March and has made eight appearances for the Whites without yet scoring, although he has been more profitable in the reserves.

Meanwhile, veteran midfielder Steve Stone, 35, will not have his planned hernia operation this week.

Stone says he is trying to avoid surgery so he can be available for the remainder of the season.
