United fans have been calling on manager Terry Venables to bring Batty back into the first team but the Leeds boss has insisted that Batty is not fit enough.
Now, Leeds physio David Hancock has revealed the 33-year-old United midfielder needs to rest completely to give him a chance of recovery.
"David has a cronic patella tendon problem which will keep him out for some weeks," said Hancock.
