The Leeds fans favourite hasn't started a game since a 1-0 home defeat to Fulham in April 2002.

Batty, who is now one of the veteran's in the team at 34, has made two substitute appearances this season - both at home against Newcastle and Southampton.

He will be joined by another returning favourite for the visit of Swindon with striker Michael Bridges set to figure on the bench.

The 25-year-old has now recovered from a ruptured Achilles.

United chairman John McKenzie is also due to meet the player's agent to discuss a new deal.

The former Sunderland striker's current deal runs out at the end of the season and United are keen to extend the player's contract at Elland Road.

The Leeds striker stated: "I would be delighted to get a new contract. We're talking about it at the moment and we're just playing it by ear. It has been at the back of my mind and I've just wanted to get back playing and training every day.

"Now, I'm finally back I want to stay here because Leeds have stuck by me through all my injury problems and I feel that I owe them that loyalty.

While Bridges is set to make a welcome return, French loan star Cyril Chapuis could be handed his first start with Mark Viduka set to be rested.

The Marseille striker has played two reserve games and Reid is keen to see him step up his fitness in the first team.
