Bates Ready For Legal Action

League chiefs announced on Friday that United were being docked 15 points for failing to comply with the terms of its "well-established insolvency policy".

In the past the governing body has insisted that clubs exit administration via a creditor-backed deal known as a company voluntary arrangement (CVA).

United's CVA, however, was scrapped following a legal challenge from the taxman and instead the club was bought back by Bates in a straight sale.
