Bates: No Intention Of Selling Anyone

A few players in United's squad are likely to attract attention from rival clubs during the close season, but Bates, who revealed that Leeds made a small operating profit during the 2007-08 season, said: "We have no intention of selling anyone.

"If players want to leave or decide to leave then we can't necessarily stop them doing that, and that is up to them. But if people come looking for players we want to keep, they'll be told in no uncertain terms to disappear.

"We drew up separate budgets for the Championship and League One, and neither of them relied on selling players. When it comes to transfers, Gary will do what he feels is in the best interests of the club."
