The Norwegian international midfielder, 27, joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of January 2006 and he said: "David brought me to England and I hope working with him will work out well. He left Leeds after finishing fifth in the Premiership. That was after we finished third and fourth. The year after he left we were 14th.
"I was on big money at Leeds and they wanted me off the wage bill. I was happy there but it was like a soap opera."
