Baggies boss Bryan Robson has admitted that they have made "an inquiry" regarding Carson.
Robson confirmed: "We made an inquiry about Scott Carson at Leeds but that's as far as it has gone. We've been monitoring how the kid has been doing so we just approached Leeds to see what the situation was with him.
"But I've personally not been in touch with anyone at Leeds."
Liverpool look to be leading the chase for the England U-21 international, although Wigan, Aston Villa and Chelsea are also reportedly interested.
