Ayling Set For Move To Leeds

Phil Hay writes in The Yorkshire Evening Post that the 24-year-old right-back, who can also play in the centre of defence, has undergone a medical and looks set to become United’s eighth new signing in the next 24 hours.

Head coach Garry Monk has moved quickly after Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers.

Leeds lost first-choice right-back Gaetano Berardi to a hamstring injury in that match and are short of defensive options.

Ayling started his career at Arsenal but began his professional career in earnest at Yeovil Town in 2010.

He moved onto Bristol City in 2014 and has made 80 appearances for the club in the past two seasons.

He was part of the City squad which won the League One title in 2015.
