The 24-year-old has failed to establish himself at Elland Road and will have talks with Strasbourg about a move, with Leeds already indicating that they would be willing to let him end his loan spell early.
Once Ljuboja's move to PSG is confirmed, then Chapuis is expected in Strasbourg to seal his move from Marseille.
Caretaker boss Eddie Gray said on the official Leeds website: "Cyril expressed an opportunity to leave because he wasn't getting an opportunity here and you have to respect that.
"He had not figured in the plans here, he has come on a few times but he wanted to play regular first team football like most players do."
