The August nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award are:
Marcelo Bielsa (Leeds United)
The crushing disappointment of losing out on both automatic promotion and via the play-offs has been left behind as Bielsa has his side dominating games and creating chances, collecting 13 points from six games along the way.
Lee Bowyer (Charlton Athletic)
Bowyer wasn’t sure of his own position as August neared and then had to recruit half a new team. Not only has he unearthed diamonds like Conor Gallagher, he knitted them together so well that they were unbeaten with 14 points from six games.
Steve Cooper (Swansea City)
New to management and without Daniel James and Oli McBurnie, the stars of last season’s team, Cooper’s achievement in leading Swansea unbeaten to 16 points from a possible 18 and the top of the Championship is nothing short of extraordinary.
Lee Johnson (Bristol City)
Forced to reinvent his side every autumn following summer sales, Johnson continues to defy expectations. This season’s version has begun with 11 points from six games, which included away victories at Hull and Derby.
