Aidy Keen On New Whites Deal

Reports suggest the 20-year-old left-back snubbed Leeds' initial offer of a new deal last month.

But White, whose current contract is due to expire next summer, says negotiations over an extension are still in full flow.

"Talks are ongoing," White told Leeds' official website. "I want to sign for Leeds and hopefully we'll get things sorted as soon as we can.

"I just focus on my football and hopefully that will take care of everything else."

White, a youth product at the West Yorkshire club, has established himself as a first-team regular after spending time on loan at Oldham Athletic last season.

The youngster has played a key role as the Whites push for promotion to the Premier League this season, something he hopes they will achieve in honour of former player Gary Speed following his tragic death late last month.

White, who helped Leeds to a 2-0 home win over Millwall at the weekend after they thrashed Nottingham Forest in midweek, said: "Saturday was a very emotional day for Leeds fans and football followers in general.

"Hopefully we'll carry on winning and get promotion in memory of him. Play-offs haven't always been the best for Leeds United and we will look for automatic promotion.

"We had two good wins against Nottingham Forest and Millwall, hopefully we can keep our home form going now and kick-on.

"We'll look forward to Saturday against Watford. Everybody's looking forward to it after picking up two wins and it's a good chance to keep pushing up the table."
