Adams: Play Pre-Season Behind Closed Doors

Adams, who was linked with a return to Leeds himself as manager before Reid was offered the position, sympathised with his Premier League rival as Leeds' pre-season woes continued with the defeat at Hull on Friday.

Before that Leeds crashed to Burnley 4-2, a game that involved a 20-man brawl, and there was a controversial incident involving striker Mark Viduka at York City when he threw the ball at an opponent and was substituted before being red-carded.

Adams said: "It's unfair some managers like Peter Reid are coming under severe pressure before the Premiership season has even kicked off.

"Managers can do without this, and if it continues I can see some clubs playing their pre-season games behind closed doors so no-one knows what is going on."
