A View From The Blues

We could not manage Jasper Carrot, so we got the next best thing, Brian Cartlidge of the Singing The Blues website www.singingtheblues.co.uk.Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions for us Brian.

How has Birmingham's season gone so far?
We couldn't be more happy with it. Four games played and undefeated so far is probably more than the most loyal of fans would have predicted especially with an away game at Newcastle in amongst those. The 1-0 win at St. James' Park may have left the players and fans alike thinking the home game with Fulham was going to be easy - they were wrong and a home draw was achieved with an indifferent performance. Still 8 points from four games isn't bad!

Star player to look out for?
A few really. Dugarry will leave you bemused with his skills and Dunn has been a revelation so far. Keep an eye on the calming influence of Kenny Cunningham in defence also - if he shakes off a groin injury in time for the game that is.

Strong point in the Birmingham team?
The non stop work rate of the midfield players in particular and of course the silky skills of the two mentioned above.

Weak point in the Birmingham team?
If there's one weak link at the moment I'd have to point to the lack of pace on the right side of defence. This was clearly outlined in the game with Fulham last weekend when Louis Boa Morte ran us ragged down that flank.

Prediction for Saturday?
I think we were unfortunate to be beaten at Elland Road last season and on that occasion we played without many regulars because of injuries and suspensions so I am going to predict a win for my boys - when did that last happen at Elland Road ?

Obviously we wish The Blues a good season....and hope you get a good beating this Saturday!

Oh and by the way... the last time we lost to Birmingham at home was;
