48 hours to go for Kewell

After weeks of speculation and media attention he finally looks to be on his way.

Initial interest from Arsenal was easily dismissed when Wenger offered Ray Parlour in part-ex. Manchester United's interest has been negligible, while Chelsea's bid appears to have been too little too late.

Barcelona said they were keen, but they have been all talk on the transfer front this summer. Professor MacKenzie's claim that Kewell could still be a Leeds player when the season kicked off fell on deaf ears as it was clear his future lay elsewhere.

So Liverpool it is then. I for one will be glad to see him go. At least then I'll be able to get back to writing headlines without the 'K' word in the headline.
